As a singer, she has performed Rabindrasangeet (music of the first Nobel Laureate of Asia Rabindranath Tagore) throughout India and internationally. Music plays an important part in her personal life and wellbeing too.

Paramita produced an award-winning feature film 'Bridge'. It travelled to prestigious film festivals across continents and won awards and accolades.

Paramita is in the process of completing her first work of fiction and was selected by a literary organisation Asian Women Writers, based in the UK as one of their chosen writers for mentorship.

Mousumi Banerjee is Anant M. Kshirsagar Collegiate Research Professor, Department of Biostatistics; Research Professor, Global Public Health, University of Michigan School of Public Health (UM-SPH); Faculty Affiliate, Michigan Institute for Data Science (MIDAS), University of Michigan (UM). Professor Banerjee is a Fellow of the American Statistical Association, and an elected member of the International.

Alongside her professional career, Mousumi has been singing and cultivating Tagore songs for more than three decades. She performs regularly as an invited artist in live and television shows in USA. She has released 4 Tagore song albums. Professor Banerjee is also a writer. She writes in both Bangla and English. Her poetry and short stories have been published in many literary magazines. Mecca, to name a few. Her collected poems Eklaghor (Room Alone) was published in Kolkata.
